Lot 2 of the Vidin–Botevgrad section, from km 161+367 to km 174+800, part of Trans-European Transport Corridor No. 4.
Total length of the route: 13.433 km.
The project covers the most complex section of the Vidin – Botevgrad high-speed road and involves numerous blasting operations, over 1,500,000 m³ of earth and rock excavation, and the construction of seven bridge structures, two tunnels, and three two-level interchanges.
The new infrastructure significantly improves transport connectivity between Dunav Bridge 2 near Vidin, Northwestern Bulgaria, and international traffic between Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Greece, creating a faster and safer route to Western Europe.
For the implementation of the project, its manager – Engineer Kristina Ivancheva – was awarded the “Engineer of the Year” prize by the Bulgarian Road Industry Chamber.
