EUROPEAN ROADS WORKS NON-STOP ON THE REPAIR OF THE TRAKIA MOTORWAY

With the full mobilization of people, equipment, and experience, the road construction company “European Roads” is carrying out intensive repair work on key sections of the Trakia Motorway. The rehabilitation of the problematic sections is being carried out in stages and within a short time frame in order to ensure better traffic flow and safety for all drivers, especially before the summer tourist season.

In just 14 days, without interruption, the company completed the repair of 11 kilometers of the motorway – between km 108 and km 119, in the Plovdiv region. In this section, the old pavement was completely milled, a geogrid with polymer fibers was laid, and a binder and wearing course of new asphalt were applied.

The asphalt bases of European Roads worked at full capacity to serve the site – with continuous production and logistical support for the necessary quantities of asphalt, even during the peak hours of the repair work. Thanks to the good coordination between the production facilities and the teams on site, a smooth pace of laying was ensured without delays or downtime.

Since the end of last week, the repair of the Trakia Motorway has also covered a new section – between km 98 and km 106, in the direction of Sofia, in the Pazardzhik region. The temporary traffic organisation allows one lane in each direction on the road to Burgas.

More than 150 trucks and machines, as well as several dozen specialists and operators, work on site every day. The activities include not only replacing the pavement, but also improving drainage, laying clear horizontal markings, new road signs, and restraint systems. Work is progressing at an intense pace and the section is expected to be completed on time.

We know how to do it – we have the people, the equipment, and the experience. We are working hard because we know how important it is for drivers that the motorway is in excellent condition. Our goal is not just to repair the road, but to restore traffic safety,“  said Margarita Popivanova, Executive Director of European Roads.

The contractor for the project is Avtomagistrali EOOD, commissioned by the Road Infrastructure Agency, and European Roads is the main subcontractor.

The company emphasizes that this project once again demonstrates its ability to carry out high-quality repairs in a short time frame, even under conditions of heavy traffic and complex logistics.
