In connection with the public debate on the need to expand the Plovdiv Ring Road, we would like to state the following:
The Plovdiv Ring Road is part of the national road network. Its repair in 2021 was carried out by European Roads under a contract for ongoing repair and maintenance. This type of program includes only the repair of the existing road in accordance with an approved project and does not allow for changes to the dimensions of the roadways. In this regard, European Roads laid new road pavement and new shoulders.
Horizontal and vertical signage, part of which are the road barriers, is the subject of other contracts with other companies, and European Roads has no involvement in this.
We apply the highest quality standards in the implementation of all repair works on the Plovdiv Ring Road, as well as in all our other projects. This is also proven by the current condition of the road, which is excellent after five years of intensive use.
As a leading road construction and maintenance company in Bulgaria, we fully support the need to expand the Plovdiv Ring Road and share the efforts of local and national authorities in developing a modern road infrastructure that meets the dynamic needs of the region.
At the same time, we continue to call for responsible behavior and careful driving on the road.
